Melody Sauce 3 is a substantial overhaul of EVAbeat’s popular melody generation plugin — and the headline addition is chord progression generation, something the earlier versions simply didn’t have.

At its core, Melody Sauce 3 is a creative ideas generator built for producers who want to break through writer’s block fast. You hit generate, and the plugin builds complete melodic and harmonic ideas for you — melodies, chords, and bass lines, all working together. But it’s not a one-trick random button. The real value here is how much control you have over the output.

The chord engine is the big news. Nearly 1,000 chord progressions are possible across 9 genres, using expanded chord types including Maj9, sus2, and Dim7. Chord and bass layers come with their own dedicated internal sounds and rhythms, and you can choose from over 140 rhythm patterns for both. Every progression is fully editable after generation — so you’re never stuck with something that doesn’t quite fit.

On the melody side, the generative algorithms have been upgraded to produce more natural, flowing melodic lines. Generated melodies now run up to 8 bars in length (double what earlier versions produced), giving you more complete ideas to work from rather than short fragments. The new UI includes a piano roll section where you can manually adjust generated melodies before dragging them out. It’s a meaningful upgrade from v1/2’s more limited editing options. There are also tooltips on every control — a small thing, but genuinely helpful for new users learning the workflow.

The 300 style presets (all new in v3) give you an immediate jumping-off point across different genres and moods, and a new style randomizer is there when you want to break your own habits.
