InstaComposer 4 at a Glance

InstaComposer 4 by W. A. Production is a MIDI generator that writes several parts at once: melody, chords, bass, rhythm and drums, up to six tracks in a single pass. It can also build a whole song structure, with intros, verses, choruses, bridges and outros, in one click.

You pick a scale and the kind of part you want, press generate, and listen. If it isn’t right, generate again or change the settings that steer it: complexity, note density, repetition, velocity and timing. Edit notes inside the plugin, then drag single tracks or the whole arrangement into your DAW.

Version 4 is a big update. The generation engine was rebuilt, and W. A. Production says rhythm, timing, phrasing and pitch choices are all better for it. There are two new modes, Arpeggiator and Rhythm V2, plus groove controls (Syncopation, Gallop, Density, Burst and Congestion) and a Humanize option for timing and velocity. A new Foliage control adds extra notes that grow out of your main melody.

It now makes its own sound as well. Earlier versions needed you to route each track to another instrument. Version 4 has a built-in acoustic piano, a General MIDI-style set of instruments, SoundFont (SF2) loading and a mixer with reverb and delay, so you can hear an idea straight away.
